Pour activer la carte eSIM de Revolut en passant la frontière :
What to do at the border
- Turn ON the Revolut eSIM line.
- Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data → Cellular Data: choose Revolut (so all data goes through it).
- Settings → Cellular → Revolut → Data Roaming: ON (travel eSIMs commonly need this).
- Settings → Cellular → Salt → Data Roaming: OFF (prevents accidental Swiss-roaming data charges).
- Turn OFF “Allow Cellular Data Switching” (so the iPhone won’t silently use Salt for data if it thinks coverage is “better”).
Calls while you’re in France
-
If you keep Salt active for voice, calls will be roaming (even if data is on Revolut).
-
If you expect even a handful of “normal” calls (restaurants, hotel), Salt has an add-on Talk EUROPE (CHF 4.95/month) that drops roaming call charges in Europe to CHF 0.20/min, and you can activate it by texting START TALKEUROPE to 5155 (and stop with STOP TALKEUROPE).
If you don’t activate it, roaming call charges can be much higher.
- Quick sanity check (recommended)
- After you cross: open Safari and check that the “Cellular Data” line shown in Settings → Cellular is Revolut, then load a page. If it works, you’re done.
